Support from the Inside Out
Kerith Family Recovery is a relationship-based program that offers support to the families foundering in the cycle of incarceration and substance use, providing individuals and families the knowledge, tools, and support to interrupt the cycle of incarceration and substance addiction.
Providing Recovery Support for adults in tandem with youth programming shores up prevention efforts and strengthens the community. Serving adults increases the probability of success for our youth. Kerith Family Recovery supports |
Recovery Support: My Recovery offers both online and in-person meetings for individuals in recovery and adults affected by the destructive behaviors of others. Based on our organization’s six core principles, each person is encouraged to take the lead of their recovery, using the attentive listening couching model. Kerith programs offer an alternative to the traditional twelve step model, encourages personal accountability, positive choices, and controlling variables verses accepting the powerlessness often connected to substance use.
Re-entry Support: Kerith offers inclusive, faith-based re-entry support through our Community Chaplaincy Team, and inclusive character-based programing led by our Peer-to-Peer Recovery Coaches. A continuum of care starts with group mentoring provided in local correctional facilities and offering continued mentoring support post-release.
Ministry to people within the criminal justice system is CFM’s primary reason for being. Our Community Chaplaincy Program ordains and supervises the activities of Ministers of the Gospel, who minister primarily to incarcerated and recently-released inmates and their families, many of whom also have problems with substance abuse and addiction. Our Community Chaplains enjoy all the responsibilities and privileges of the clergy, receive specialized training, and have a personal calling from God to work with hurting people in non-church venues and situations.
